Jimmy Buffett in Pittsburgh

Buffett tickets go on sale Saturday! Whoo-hooo!

It's gonna be weird not drinking at a Buffett concert though.

My favorite songs no one else remembers

Here's a bunch of songs I like that I'm not claiming are particularly towards the top of any list of "best" songs. These are just some favorites of mine that very few people besides myself seem to remember. I have most of these on my computer these days, which is a good thing, because I doubt I'll ever hear them on the radio again, even on those new formatless radio stations.
  • "Tommy, Judy and Me" by Rob Hegel- I remember this one when I was back in tenth grade. It was on the radio up here all the time, and it's the song I associate most closely with the summer of that year. I mentioned this song before on a message board, and was pleasantly surprised when Rob Hegel himself emailed me to thank me for bringing it up again.
  • "The Beat Goes On/Switching to Glide" by the Kings- Like Queen's "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions," these two songs are rarely played separately.  Also like Queen, I had no idea these guys were gay when the song was getting airtime.
  • "Why Not Me" by Fred Knobloch- Kind of a downer of a song, but hey, I like it. My thanks to my buddy Don Collett for hooking me up with a copy of this one.
  • "Sausalito Summer Nights" by Diesel- When I was in high school commercial art class, this song seemed to play on the classroom radio every day for weeks.
